'In Search of Us' was a wonderful read. It has a multitude of different themes that were all thoughtful and cleverly displayed, from motherhood, to the relationship between women, to romance, and more.

Marilyn and Angie are both very interesting characters, connected not only by dual narratives set in different chronological times, but also because they are mother and daughter. It is interesting to see their experiences, especially where they're similar and where they differ. I really enjoyed both of their stories, and it was fascinating to see all the hardship they went through but how they also had their times of happiness.

The prose is also really, really lovely - it has this wavy, whimsical feel that really evokes a sense of the summer heat in California. A lovely read that would probably be really nice to read in the summer months.
