Fantastic sounding gritty realism

The great thing about short story collections is that you can read the quickly, dip in and out and discover some new favourite authors. This collection sounds like an amazing mix of gritty realism, dealing with complex cultural issues but still reflecting real world and our real experiences within it. Almost a therapy for the writers and readers, the cover is also a wonderful selling point with its gothic connotations and dark themes. I'd love to read on and expand my short stories shelf.
