The quality of writing is exquisite, evoking a sense of empathy and understanding into the trials and tribulations of bias and injustice that society’s have harboured for far too long. Each story, whether set in zimbabwee or England, demonstrate those who bear the brunt of our broken society’s. The variants of corruption may seem drastically different, but beneath the surface, prejudice and discrimination are the rotten core elements. Through the voices of several characters, we can see different perspectives of the curtailments of citizens freedoms, the predatory nature that powers bestow on the vulnerable and how the media manipulates and distorts facts to ensure change is limited. I particularly felt the anguish of judge who had to seek political asylum because he rallied against sex trafficking and the insight into the Covid outbreak and the derogatory behaviour towards those who worked tirelessly to save our lives and yet are still not entitled to the benefits they bestowed upon their patients. A daring novel that needs to be read in order to understand the injustices that are prevailing and a beautiful connection to some characters that deserve to be heard
