The front cover is captivating as on first impressions it doesn't look like much but when you look more closely you can see an image of the side of a face. Reading the bio immediately had me at Alcatraz, anything with a prison and i'm sold! The fact that there are multiple short stories is a good thing as the part the referenced politics is slightly off putting. I have never read any books by this author before but I would certainly give this one a try. Would I buy it? Possibly not, but that is only because I have a stack to read already and only tend to purchase ones that fit my criteria of crime and or horror like any Stephen king book for example. I don't know much about Zimbabwean history either so I would want to flip through the pages to see if the language, for example, peoples name was readable. Also I would want to know if the stories were completely fictional or if there was some reference to actual events.
