I was given the chance to read this as an ARC. It was sent straight from the author and had a message inscribed into it for me. I loved this touch and will be holding onto my copy now.
I found this book of short stories to have some great stories that are either set in Zimbabwe or England. Some made for uncomfortable reading as they seemed very political and laced with strong opinions. Even so I feel I have learnt a lot about the way people live, how governments are run and all the bad in the world.
I just feel it’s mainly a book about being black in a predominantly white country and all the struggles faced.
I am glad I read this one and has given me lot to think about. I much preferred reading the stories of the people living within Zimbabwe and how the government control the lives of others, especially the people who do not agree with them. It was a real eye opener.
