A Bit of a Drag
This book started off promisingly well, and the characters were interesting enough. There was a good amount of world building in the beginning, but overall I felt it was fairly well done.
However, by the mid way point, I found myself getting bored. The story just wasn't engaging and I found it difficult to generate any interest in any of the characters, who became quite interchangeable. Although I'd originally quite liked Tavia, I ended up quickly forgetting even her name whenever I put the book down, and that made it difficult to continue. The premise was still interesting, but I found myself not really caring about how it ended.
I did finish the book, but it was hard going and I didn't particularly want to. The beginning was good, but the rest just dragged.
