I really wanted to love this book but it just didn't happen for me. I felt the character progression was lacking and although I connected quite quickly with Tavia, sadly that dwindled out by a third of the way through. None of the other characters had much pull over me and I ended up not really caring what happened to them.
I hate to admit but it was a struggle to finish this book, I really had to push myself to keep reading.
This book had so much potential, the magical world created by Alexandra Christo was brilliant and I could easily use my imagination to picture the places being described. I really wanted this book to me so much more and the potential was there but it just missed the mark.
I would read another Christo book and am pleased I gave this one a go.
