I liked the story line to this book, the range of characters, races and intricacy of magic. Each character brings something bold and new and the story is quick paced and easy to follow, whilst being unpredictable and at times shocking.
Christo has created an entire new world where magic is delt, trade and stolen and has created cultures that encourage the reader to be more aware of the bonds of loyalty and protection that arise with certain relationships.
Despite this the writing itself is sometimes lacking and hence the 3star rating. Thoughts and feelings of the characters are often over explained, resulting in transporting me out of the story and leaving me to look at it from more of an analytical POV.
However, I would read books from this author again.
