Into the crooked place is set in a world where dark magic is a commodity and where organised crime is brilliantly entwined with it.
As characters are introduced into the story I found myself wrapped up in the carefully woven relationships they have with one another and the history that moulded them as people made it so easy to become invested they feel so real. I love that there are such noticeable differences between characters despite sharing a common goal every person still has their own unique view and motivations made apparent through glimpses of their past which I love.
The progression through the story was well paced and felt natural, honestly everything about this book is magical from the way the scenes are set to the well thought out cultures my interest was piqued all the way through and I can't wait for the second installment.
