I did enjoy this book, I loved the world that was created, the magic systems and the characters, but I wasn't blown away by it. I went into it with high hopes, so this may have been the problem, I absolutely loved the authors previous book and so was very excited to read this, it seemed to have everything I wanted. The world building is brilliant and I really enjoyed the relationship's and back and forth between the band of misfits that were forced together on the quest, but it just felt a bit flat at times and maybe it could have done with being a bit shorter. This is part of a duology so I will definitely be reading the second book just to see what happens to the characters and hopefully I will enjoy it more
