Into The Crooked Place reminds me of These Rebel Waves with magic being indulged and a fight for power using them and Crooked Kingdom with their fight to survive.

Wesley is one of my favourite characters of all time, showing a much clearer fight with his morality and feelings for Tavia. And the complexity of Karam's situation of being loyal to Wesley and in love with Saxony.

The story itself was hard to get into for a while because of it being a slow burner. However, when I got into it (past 80 pages), I felt very invested and lost in the world and magic created. The writing style embedded each voice fully and made the characters each feel different to the others.

However, there were a few points of the story that were predictable, even if written beautifully.
