Alexandra Christo's Into the Crooked Place was a novel I was really enthusiastic about reading in the first place. The hype for this book was immensely filled with Adventures, Romance Magic, and potions are there.
On the market, Tavia sells magic potions. She is ordered to sell a new magic potion one day. something terrible happens as her friend Saxony drinks the latest potion. The potion makes people do bad stuff, and before it hurts anyone, Tavia and Saxony need to stop it!
In this book, the storytelling was fantastic. I felt as if I was immediately whisked away to a world where it is normal to go to a market to purchase a love potion. I was able to immediately connect with all the characters and wanted to know more about them. The fact that this tale is told from the viewpoints of multiple characters, really helped me understand them more and was appropriate for this book.
Furthermore, we are also introduced to other characters such as Wesley and Karam. Wesley, who is Tavia's enforcer. He is the one she takes orders from, and once she wins it by serving for him, he is the one who gives her her independence. next, we have Karam, a sassy warrior woman who battles for cash in the pits. Karam, with her courage and her free spirit, is a character I immediately liked. She knows who she is, she knows how she got there and she knows what she really wants. Honestly one of my favorite characters.cc
