Gripped me into the book straight away!
A beautifully illustrated map starts the story off, giving you an insight into the world the author is creating.
Tavia is our main character and is performing street magic when we first meet her.
Magic is bought and sold on the streets and Tavia has been roped into selling dangerous magic on the black market by a boy called Wesley. She is reluctant to sell this new elixir which is being marketed as happiness in a bottle. Her friend tries this magic and it has horrible side effects.
The world building was done subtly in the back ground so it gradually builds a picture into the readers mind.
The writing was sharp and very easy to read, the pace just started to pick up at the end I am desperate to carry the story on!
