I love stories about magic ! What’s interesting about this book according to me is the point of view of Tavia upon magic: not magic actually. It’s a transition, it’s business, it’s survival. It’s not something wonderful like in some books. But I bet it will become !
I also love when the stories take place in a whole new world. So there the map was helpful, and I’m really looking forward to discovering more about that magical world !
The plot of the book appears quickly, with an unplanned prophecy and a new and mysterious form of magic. So there was much suspense as soon as page 6, which I loved !
We immediately feel close to the main character Tavia and her unfair situation - working unwillingly for someone until she turns 18.
The first two chapters read « Tavia », so I assume we’re going to see another point of view, which is great. I’m looking forward to discover it !
