If you enjoyed Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, you will absolutely LOVE this book. The fast paced action and plot twists make this book the furthest thing from boring. It’s a perfect novel to get you out of a reading slump. I was hooked from the beginning, mesmerized by the alluring magic system and morally ambiguous characters. I was amazed at the depth of these characters and their relationships. The author steps away from the boring, stereotypical archetypes often found in YA literature and deftly creates complex, interesting characters that you immediately fall in love with. The author beautifully melds realism and magic, their world building creates an intricate, yet non-confusing, immersive universe. I will definitely be reading the sequel, which was recently released. I definitely recommend this to fans of Leigh Bardugo, Holly Black, and Jay Kristoff.
