Alexandra Christo is a fantastic author. I have enjoyed both of her books so far. Into the Crooked Place is a fantastic YA novel. I love books that incorporates magic and morally grey characters. The book starts slow, where Christo is world building and giving her readers an insight into the world she has created. I feel this was necessary to give the book a foundation. I know some people felt that it dragged, but as it is a duology I feel It was justified. This book has a Six of Crows feel about it with the four crooks, a busker, gangster, warrior and resistance fighter. This book ended on a cliffhanger and I know that I can’t wait to read on to see where the story goes.
