I received the advanced reader copy of this book from the publisher in return for an honest review.
I have to say the beginning of the book was a bit slow and a lot about different people, regions and politics. Looking back now that I finished reading the book, it makes perfect sense, as it was there to build the foundation of the series and introduce you to the world the author created, but at the time it was a bit hard to get through. After that was out of the way the plot was great and I basically devoured the book!
There was some foreshadowing going on, which is something I don't mind and some of the plot twists I saw coming. None the less it was a great start to the series!
I really like the author's writing style and how the story is told from different perspectives. The characters are all so different, which makes them such unlikely allies and I loved seeing how their relationships developed.
The book ended on a cliffhanger and I can't wait for the next part to come out!
