This was, sadly, a DNF (did not finish) for me. I really didn't enjoy the author's first novel, To Kill A Kingdom, but i eagerly anticipated Into The Crooked Place. This, unfortunately, felt like a yet another generic YA fantasy with literally nothing new brought into the scene. I had high hopes especially as it was sold as a heist story with a bunch of morally grey characters /misfits working together. You can't help but compare it to Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo and that was a masterpiece. Into The Crooked Place felt like a cheap imitation with characters that I felt nothing for, complete apathy. I don't think i will be picking up anything else by this author but that's ok...so many books are waiting to be discovered!
