When I first heard about this book I thought it looked really interesting and something different to what I would normally read. However, upon starting to read it, I'm afraid I was quite disappointed. I found the story really hard to keep up with and often found myself putting it down for quite a while. As a result, it took me ages to get through the book.
I liked the magical cities and world that the story was set in, but I just couldn't get on board or get into the story and the characters. It got to a point where I was just reading it to see if it got any better/ to get through the book. I felt the plot was decent but it seemed very long and drawn out and I felt the chapters were almost too long in places without adding anything to the rest of the story.
