This book was exactly what I needed to get out of a reading slump! The beautiful cover caught my eye and the synopsis hooked me, but it was the writing and the wonderful story that really blew me away. While overall not in my top reads (which I reserve 5 stars for) it was a wonderful read and and excellent example of what fantasy should be.
Alexandra Christo had me emotionally hooked with the way she writers her characters, and the set up of the plot is so interesting! This book pulled me out of my reading slump and satisfied the need for another great fantasy story with excellent characters and an intriguing plot! Definitely read this if you're a fan of Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo - I think you'll love it!
