I was really excited when a copy arrived through my letterbox and couldn't wait to start reading it. I loved the concept of it, everything about it screamed out to me. It just lacked... something. I can't even pinpoint what exactly it was. It took me three attempts at reading
before I finished it. It's entirely possible I tried reading it at the wrong time.

There are some great parts to this book and I certainly don't want to put people off reading it, especially as it could be a book they love. I would definitely encourage people to give Into the Crooked Place a try and see for themselves.

I really wanted to love it, especially as I adored To Kill a Kingdom. I might give it another try in the future.
