After reading To Kill A Kingdom and really enjoying it it’s fair to say that I was pretty excited for this one.

As with To Kill A Kingdom, I was drawn into the story quite quickly. The style of writing is just so easy to read and pulls you in from the very first page.

As far as the characters go I’m not sure I could say I loved them but I did like Tavia and Wesley and I’m looking forward to seeing how their relationship turns out.
I didn’t feel particularly one way or another about the other characters though.

The plot was interesting and I loved the magic and how it was used. How some characters were born with it and others use charms.

The only thing that sticks in my mind is that I felt like I kept comparing it to Six of Crows which isn’t necessarily a bad thing because I love that book but I’m not quite sure whether that has impaired my opinion or not.

Overall it was a good book and I’ll be looking forward to the next one!
