Dark, but still full of emotion

I found the start of ‘Into the Night’ to be full of the anguish, and hurt which the characters held, but also how emotion can be cut off completely or partially. The development of the relationships between characters was particularly interesting, as the understanding of each other did not just stop at what is said and done, but what inferences can be made from pure body language, and work relations. I felt as though it was not just an ordinary or stereotypical ‘murder mystery’, but a story where the intertwining of feeling and action were vital for the reader to understand situations - something achieved remarkably well.
