I really enjoyed this book. I found that you didn't really need to off read the first book in the series before hand , although I plan on reading it now. However some refrancesca are made to older cases so if you plan on reading the book and find small facts you don't know will make you frustrated you are best to start on book 1.
Gemma character is interesting , she has left her husband and son and moved so she can become a better detextile. She also struggles with intimacy, preferring to have casual sex with strangers.
If you like a good old fashioned police story then this is the book for you.
