While I know this is the second book in the series and I have not read the first book, it did not stop me from enjoying the story - a sign of good writing!
The characters are interesting, especially enjoyed the character development of Gemma, she seems complex psychologically and I like how this was explored in her actions.
This is not the usual genre I would go for so was not expecting to really enjoy but found it okay - it was very well written and well paced and the mystery never stopped, it even had me thinking the book down i just needed to read more. I surprised myself very much at how enjoyable I found it to be and I think I will be looking to go and read the first in the series now if it is just as good as this book!
