I read The Dark Lake by Sarah Bailey and really enjoyed it so as soon as I saw this about the same detective I had to read it.
The writing style was the same good standard again. The book was easy to read and had a good plot. It took some time to get in to the story but it was not dull in any way. I found that I was getting through the book really quickly and read it in two sittings.
I can imagine the author will write more books in this series and I will definitely read them. This story is finished but there is a back story that can be developed and there is so much more that can be done with the main character.
I know I have only given it three stars but it’s more of a three and a half. It’s not because the book is bad in anyway but it is just missing something.
