I’ve been hooked on this book since I opened the first page. Best of all what happens in the book is based on true events so it’s very easy to relate to the characters. The book is a mixture of happiness and sadness but told beautifully by the author. I really felt like I Beas in Crete whilst reading the book (where it is set) and really want to go and visit there after finishing the book . Angelika the main character is such a strong and lovely person that you can easily relate to her and her amazing family. I had no idea of all the atrocities that the Greek people suffered during the Second World War but now I have a fresh understanding thanks to this wonderful and enchanting book. Bravo Patricia Wilson!
