I can hardly believe that this is a debut novel.
The story is gripping with a new twist in every chapter that makes for compelling reading - I just could not put this book down. The factual historic content is moving and thought provoking and had me in tears. The story wraps itself around real stories which takes the reader on a journey which is so believable that some page turns are done with real trepidation.
It is so much more than a love story, or series of love stories, it is a tale of hardship, secrets and family. There is also humour and light amongst the hardship and sorrow revealed in the story and a sad history lesson at the same time.
I hope this is not the only book that Patricia Wilson writes!
