I think maybe you should Sheena’s first book before indulging in this one. There are a lot of confusing references to the previous chapter of Nora Watts life, they would make better sense if I had read “Eyes like mine”. This book takes you on a journey with Nora, who is trying to find out the real reason her dad died and why her mother abandoned her and her sister many years ago. As the blurb suggests Nora never really finds out any reasonable answers and is left asking more questions and running for her life. There are moments in the book which speak of her daughter Bonnie, but unless you had read the previous book, it was a little confusing and didn’t flow with the story, until the very end where the story has been setup for a third installment. Overall the book was ok, I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had more knowledge of the characters back grounds. This isn’t a book to pick up, read and walk away, there is definitely more to the stories. Again I would like to have read more about Brazuca but I’m guessing his storyline was more apparent in the previous book.
