On the fence.. liked the premise but wasn’t impressed by the first impression which felt like it was trying too hard.

I really liked the sound of the premise and thought this sounded like a terrific contemporary novel with some strong themes and humour. Unfortunately the first impression put me in a quandary as I didn’t find it funny at all and the opening smacked of trying too hard with the obvious humour of a dodgy sitcom. Whilst I’d definitely be interested to read this book, I am on the fence and reluctant to claim with my points so will enter the raffle.
