I don't like anything about this first impression. The cover design isn't to my taste and the synopsis sounds overly dramatic and unclear. Beverley Franklin seems to be the main character but her role isn't particularly clear. Is she a parent, headteacher, teacher, governor or other? The synopsis makes the story sound American but the extract seems to suggest that it's set in Ireland. The extract reads like a soap opera and I couldn't relate to any of the characters. I can't say that I'd be interested in reading the rest of this book.
