I have already read two books by eithne shorthall and really enjoyed them so was very keen to read it couldn't happen here. I was definitely not disappointed. Once I got into the story I really didn't want to put it down and read it very quickly. The story centres on the annual school musical at Grass Lake school which this year may be shown on television.Beverley Franklin leads the Lakers a group of mothers who meet each week to discuss and complain about the school. The discovery of a body in the river by the school threatens to stop the show. The story moves from the present back to the days leading up to the discovery of the body. There are several other themes. The car crash which turned the town against the Whitehead family, the old lady who steals the neighbours cats, a hippy grandma and unsuitable photos being sent between the children.
