It Could Never Happen Here by Eithne Shortall is an enjoyable book set around a school in Ireland.
The novel centres around the premis that someone is dead, but who is it and why? There are a few main characters with chapters centering around each of them in turn. Each character is different but I felt I got to know each of them well.
There is Beverley a wealthy woman who lives for her children and being involved with the school and the school play currently underway.
She is the unofficial leader of a group of mums obsessed with the school and their children.
Also Arlo a young boy secretly in a relationship with her teenage daughter. Arlo's dad is in prison for drinkdriving and killing his friend. The town hates Arlo and his family.
Add into this children sending naked photos, a visit by Beverley's mother and the school play being filmed before tv and it adds up to a really interesting book.
The characters are well written, though I did keep confusing a couple of the mums. Would recommend anyway looking to read a good book with interesting and different storyline.
