I really enjoyed this story; this book is filled with relatable, but still interesting, characters, and revolves around a number of events that are so believable, you could see it happening anywhere, even in your local school. But despite this, the story is anything from boring and it keeps you guessing until the very end.

The main cast of characters are all likeable, but not without faults, and this is what makes this novel stand out - the interplay and connections between the characters and what drives them to act the way they do. Ultimately, their connections lie within the town and the claustrophobic bubble that surrounds and engulfs them.

The writing itself is very funny, and had me laughing out loud many times! It was great to read a novel by an author I'd never heard of before, but I'll definitely be reading more by Eithne Shortall.
