The first look grabbed me initially, and then when I received the book I was really keen. Sadly however, a little way in it became apparent that the mysterious occurrence was way off being revealed.

The whole book seemed centred around the community's hatred for the Whitehead family, so much so that I got bored of the other underlying happenings.

The characters were confusing as there were so many similar ones- obnoxious, entitled pushy mothers. It was near impossible to tell them apart. They were also all very unlikeable, so I struggled to relate to what was going on.

The big drama that unfolded wasnt really that big and was pretty predictable to be fair.

I did like the part that focused on the relationship between Ella and Arlo, but that was barely mentioned except for a token few lines thrown in at the beginning, middle and end.

Overall I was just really disappointed by what could have been a fab read. Hopefully I'm in the minority with this opinion.
