There wasn't really a big event

There wasn't really much that happened. From the first few chapters I was expecting a big murder but... There wasn't anything. I was getting further and further through the book and constantly wondering when the main story was going to start. I liked the constant false suspects that happened with a few different events (can't explain what without spoiler). There where a few different events that very cleverly made you think that it was due to one character before realising 3 suspects in that it's someone else entirely. This was done in a way that wasn't annoying or really articifical - it really worked. Though this style did make it really difficult to keep track of who was who or work out relation early on in the book. However, all in all I didn't massively enjoy the book as I just felt it didn't get going. I didn't get attached to it, or constantly want to read it. It just didn't hook me.
