This book should come with a health warning as it has induced some funny looks from my fellow commuters when I have laughed out loud at some of the escapades contained in it.

The basic premise of the story is that the Daisy, the main character, has spent her life ensnared by social media and when she makes a serious error at work which costs her her job she is forces to re-evaluates not only her life but also the role that social media has played in this. This leads to her under going a digital detox run by her sister that leads to their having a better relationship and ultimately to Daisy making several life changing decisions.

It has been suggested by other reviewers that this is a book aimed at the female market but I would dispute this. Yes it is not the sort of book I would normally read but as it is ultimately about self identity and self actualisation it is suitable for all readers and it is also very funny at parts. It is also a book about the role of the individual in society and the increasing reliance or over reliance on social media for self validation.

I really enjoyed the sheer escapism of this book and would urge others to read it too.
