This book was very amusing but it has a serious message for social media addicts who live via their smart phones.
Daisy Hobson accidentally sends a message from her corporate Twitter account instead of her personal account with devastating consequences including the loss of her job. Her sister persuades her to help her renovate a property she has bought in the Lake District and she reluctantly agrees to a 'digital detox' during her stay - her phone is dropped into a well and she has no alternative means of accessing the internet.
She is forced to interact with her sister, her friends and the locals either face to face or by writing notes which is completely alien to her.
This book is for fans of Catherine Alliott and Sophie Kinsella. Like their books, it has a serious message which is conveyed in a humorous and light hearted way.
