On the surface this is a solid thriller...but think about it too deeply and it starts to lose points for me. The plot is overly convoluted, not always a problem in this genre, but this relies heavily on coincidence, and a real stretch of the imagination that all these people in particular would just happen to all be in the same area. It also feels like the authors hints of everything bad thats happened in the lead characters life (seriously??? can this woman not catch a break in her relationships?) which are mentioned and then forgotten are setting this up as the first in a series featuring Morgan, when perhaps these will come into play as driving forces in future investigations. Not a bad book, but felt a little like the author had so many ideas and plot devices he stuffed them all in one book, rather than allowing the central idea to be at the forefront of the story.
