Complex and compelling in equal measure.

Michael is attending a therapist notionally about the effect the death of his wife in a terrorist in incident has had on him. While he holds one particular person responsible for his wife's death the therapy also brings to mind other failings in life such as his relationship with his daughter and his focus on discipline first as a police officer and later as a headteacher.
The chapters are short and take the form of transcripts of his therapy session and this somehow adds both a poignancy and a powerfulness to them.
