Clever little Publisher's Note there - normally the hint that it might really have happened is reserved for Horror Movies...

I was surprised at the amount of humour evident in this First Impression; admittedly it is of a very dark variety but it is there. The main protagonist (I hesitate to call him the hero of our story) is strangely relatable on the page. The false starts with the letters adds a nice touch as well. I am even enjoying the conceit of the journal entries telling his story.

Altogether, this is a far better start to the book than I anticipated, I only hope that it carries through the remainder of the tale.
