first of all, the cover of the book is what drew me to it instantly. it's simple yet there's something very sinister about it. 'kill redacted' is also intriguing, it makes me wonder what the story could actually be, so so far, the book has already got me hooked. now i will read the extract and will write my opinion once i've finished reading it.
the publisher's note also has me intrigued, there's always something very creepy when it's alluded that the book is based on real life events. so far, the author has built up the suspense incredibly, and i haven't even started reading.
first page of the extract, all i can say is wow. it's very rare that i find a book that has so much impact in such few words, but the author has managed to grip my interest within a few sentences. WOW.
there's something quite humorous about the way the narrator/main character writes, he's a little sarcastic and witty and even though he's talking about dark subjects, it's in an amusing, interesting way.
a few pages later and once again... WOW!! they've 'redacted' the name of the person who the narrator hates, a slight nod to the title of the book. i'm even more interested now.
so i've just finished the extract. it's been a while since i've read a good book and i can't wait to read this. i'm so interested in the dynamics between the narrator and his daughter amy, the way he seems to blame himself for what happened to his wife, his relationship with his therapist and paul, the former student. there's so many unanswered questions and i'd love to find out what happens. overall, i'm really excited to read the rest of the book and figure out what happened to the narrator's wife, and i wonder who he hates and why their name has been redacted.
