When I read the opening chapters of this book, I was really drawn to the writing style. It's unusual in its composition, told entirely in 'self reflections' following counselling sessions, the chapters are short and sharp and keep you intrigued to read on.
The format and the fact that you only ever hear from Micheal's viewpoint makes for pretty intense reading. You feel very much in Michael's head and it creates a claustrophobic feel.
A real reflection on who you are and how life experiences can change you as a person, we get a real glimpse of the 'before' and 'after' Michael as we move through the story.
I am still not sure how I feel about the ending, and the lack of page numbers bothered me more than it should! However an engrossing read!
