This book is written through a mix of Michael's letters to his therapist and his first-person narration. Following the loss of his wife in a terrorist attack, Michael becomes increasingly convinced that it is his duty to kill the person he feels is ultimately responsible - a politician.

The novel is essentially a debate about 'good' and 'bad' in relation to right and wrong. It also talks about personal morality and choices, which makes at times for uncomfortable reading, since it does not necessarily match what we have all been taught about how we should respond to events.

I thought this was a well-argued and well-written book, but I cannot say that I really enjoyed reading it, since I mentally resisted the inevitable conclusion.
