We meet Lex, the main character, as her maternity leave is finishing and she’s starting back at work. There are so many novels covering this work/life/mother situation/ dilemma but what is different here we find out is that Alex works for the secret service and is pretty much your typical assassin. We go on to find out her husband knows nothing of her career thinking she’s something to do with data analysis and he’s infact a bit hapless. I think the author could have explored more around his character and how he fits in and influences events but that’s just a minor niggle and maybe just my inquisitive mind wanting more. Overall I’d say this was a good solid read that you could pick up and dive right in.
