My Review: I was lucky enough to get my hands on a copy of this ARC through a draw by Readers First. The plot was unlike anything I've read before, a modern-day mum crossed with James Bond, but more badass! The synopsis introduced an element of humour too so I just had to find out more.

The opening is fairly faced paced, a quick introduction to Lex - a new mother and RAT for the secret service - undertaking her first day back at work following maternity leave, struggling with 'Mothers guilt' but also the excitement of returning to some sort of normality - well, her type of action packed normal anyway!

Immediately Lex is thrown into handling an undercover mission where her new status as a mother is fully exploited while she tries to take down a Russian criminal, forging relationships with his wife all whilst maintaining her secret double life from her husband and taking care of her whole world - her daughter Gigi.

The story wrapped up quickly, and I thoroughly enjoyed the twist that was action packed and compelling. I could not bring myself to put it down once I reached this point due to the fast paced writing and the compelling action packed drama that followed!

I did enjoy this book, although other than Lex there was very little character development, however whilst writing this review and reflecting on the book it's clear because the message is very much promoting and empowering women. Proving that you can be powerful regardless of your gender. Feminism is on the up!

Overall- A solid 3 stars! *** This book was a fun read, with a nice enough twist to wrap up the story. My only real bugbear is that we have no idea what happened to a certain character that we were made to believe would be vital to the story. It's still bugging me now! Easy to blitz through thanks to Mackay's wonderful writing style. I am definitely eager to read more by Asia Mackay!
