This is the first book in the series introducing Lex Tyler, who is not just a new mother and a wife, but has just returned to work as a secret agents, working for Her Majesty’s service.
When not juggling bathing and feeding her daughter Gigi, Lex does bat an eyelid when she goes to work and has to assassinate someone who is a threat to her country. It’s not always easy doing the two jobs and keeping a secret from your husband, who thinks you sit behind a computer all day long.
Going back to work after becoming a mother is harder than Lex imagined, as she has to prove herself all over again in a mainly male dominated workplace that she can still do her job despite becoming a mother.
Her first mission is to infiltrate a yummy mummy’s group, the wife of a Russian that Lex has to assassinate, with her daughters pram protected by a bulletproof cover. It doesn’t get better than this.
A brilliant start to what I hope will continue to be a good series, at times tense at other times funny. This book has it all. I highly recommend it.
