I think this book would have made more sense if you had read the prequel. As it is, it took a while for me to get used to who all of the characters were and what their history was.
As it is a book by the author of Pretty Little Liars, I imagine I would probably enjoy it. Although I'd probably want to read the Amateurs first to understand what was going on.
