A young boy has gone missing and the Police seem to have given up but he's got a second chance at rescue when Seneca and friends start to investigate. They've been drawn into the case by an old enemy who has kidnapped their friend. Can they save her and the young boy whilst bringing down their own nemesis?

This is book 3 in the series. I haven't read the first two but was able to follow the story, though I think to truly appreciate the book it would pay to read the first two. I figured out enough for it to make sense though. This was a good story with an interesting plot but for some reason it just didn't thrill me as much as I hoped. I'm not even sure I can say why. The story was well developed and had some good twists. I also loved the very end it was a clever way to finish.

The characters are interesting and well presented though I did struggle to like Seneca, she seemed a little too self involved for me. I loved Maddox though and Brett was a complex bad guy. I enjoyed seeing his reasons develop as the story progressed.

A good whodunit but maybe more young adult than me.
