I really enjoyed the first couple of chapters of this book and thought it would be a great read. Unfortunately, as I carried on reading, it became less and less engaging and more and more cliche. The plot was predictable, the characters really weak and the dialogue bland.
I was genuinely sad that it didn't live up tk my expectations as it started off as pretty promising.
On a positive note, although I hadn't read the previous books in the series, the book made perfect sense as a stand alone read, providing explanations for at relevant details which linked to occurrences in previous books in the series.
Sadly I would give the author a miss next time and will not be venturing out to get the full series.
